We start by informing you that the Deluxe Grade offers you more options. Yes, you get more of pretty much everything to choose from.

More woods, more finishes, more bindings, more fretboard markers, more hardware options, more bridges.

Keep in mind that all the options of the Standard Grade are still available when or if you so choose. But in addition you also have the folowing available to you:

Wood Options:

In addition to the woods listed for bodies/backs in the Standard Grade, we also offer Black Korina, White Korina, Flame Maple, Quilted Maple, and Rosewood. Once again, keep in mind that these are grade AAA or better.

As for tops, you can still choose from any of the Standard Grade wods listed for tops, or you can use the same wood as your back, or you can choose from the additional options of Bocote, Figured Koa, Lacewood, Padouk, Brazilian Rosewood, Wenge, and when available, English Sycamore, Bosse, Nigerian Satinwood, and Cocobolo.

Addtitonal neck woods include Flame Maple, Birdseye Maple, Bocote, Bubinga, Walnut, and Koa. (Remember, you still have Hard Maple, Mahogany, Purpleheart, ad Korina)

As for fret/fingerboards, once again, you can choose from the woods listed in the Standard Grade (Indian Rosewood, Hard Maple, Birdseye Maple, Ebony, Pao Ferro, and Bocote) or you can choose from Bubinga, Flame Maple, Cocobolo, Brazilian Rosewod, Macassar Ebony, or Wenge.

Again, we do our best to avoid using Agathis, Alder, Basswood, and Poplar unless we are painting over the bodies with either solid or metallic paints. If you choose to build a Deluxe Grade instrument, and you are dead set on painting it, you are limited to either Ash (Hard or Swamp), Alder, Hard Maple, or Mahogany. Withe the grade raise, we eliminate the availability of Agathis, Basswood, and Poplar.

Finishes available in the Standard Grade are still available, plus in the Deluxe Grade, we add Metal Flake in Red, Gold, Silver, Blue, Green, and Fuscia (Purple-ish) as well as Candy Red and Candy Blue for those who want paint. We also add three color burst in Black/Red/Yellow, or Black/Brown/Yellow, and more transparent that include Trans Brown, Trans Pruple, Trans Turquoise, and Vintage tint.

Body binding options also expands to include not only the Natural  and the single ply in Black, White, and Cream, but also Black and White Pearl, as well as multiple ply in B/W/B and W/B/W at no additional cost.

Neck binding now includes the Black, White, Cream, and Ebony wood as in the Standard Grade, plus now you can have your neck bound in Black Pearl, White Pearl, Hard Maple, Koa, or Walnut.

We also offer more in the area of fretboard markers. You can still have dots in the previously listed materials, or you can have diamonds, ovals, stars, or crosses in Mother of Pearl or Abalone. For an additional charge, we offer Shark fins in either Mother of Pearl or Abalone as well.

Headstocks in the Deluxe Grade can be natural or painted as before, plus they can now be laminated to match the body top and dyed or burst to match the body. Also, headstocks can now be bound in single ply Black, White, Cream, Black Pearl, White Pearl, or in multiple ply in W/B/W, or B/W/B.

All electronics packages and options remain the same as these are model specific, not grade specific. Refer to the appropriate page for model specific descriptions.

In the Deluxe Grade, we drop the standard black or white pick guards (unless you really, really want one). We keep all the pearl, tortoise, and moto, plus we add more pearl colors including vintage, red, silver, and blue pearl, as well as brown and silver shell, and gold anodized aluminum.

All the bridges listed in the Standard Grade remain, plus we now add the Hipshot hardtail and tremolo bridges appropriate to your model, and for the AX-1, the Floyd Rose (at additional cost).
