Body woods for the Standard Grade are as follows:

Backs come in Hard Ash, Swamp Ash, Mahogany, Purpleheart, Hard Maple, and Walnut. If you are selecting a laminate top (For example a Flame Maple top on a Mahogany back), then you can choose between a chambered or non chambered body at no additional charge.

IF, and only if, the customer requests, AND the body is to be painted, we will offer Alder, Basswood, and Poplar, as long as these are available in a grade AAA or better.

Top woods for the Standard Grade are, in addition to the same woods as the backs, available in Soft Maple, Quilted Maple, Flame Maple, Bubinga, Koa, Figured Walnut, and Zebrawood.

As for binding, it is standard on the following  models:

• The Arthur
• The Lancelot
• The Merlin
• The Gawain

Standard binding is single ply in black, white, or cream with natural binding as an option to single ply. Multiple ply in the same colors is available at an additional charge. There is no additional charge for the use of natural binding in lieu of single ply binding on models where binding is standard.

Standard grade finishes are as follows:

For those who wish to have their instrument painted, we offer Black, Alpine White, Antique White, Light (powder) Blue, Dark (royal) Blue, Green, Bright (Ferrari) Red, Red Metallic, Blue Metallic, Pewter/Silver Metallic, and Gold Metallic.

Dyed and transparent finishes include Transparent Black, Transparent Blue, Transparent Green, or Transparent Red, all with either natural or matching dyed backs. Natural finishes in Gloss, Satin, or Antiqued Gloss are also available, as well as Tung Oiled finish.

Burst finishes include Vintage Tobacco, TigerEye, Blue Burst, Black Burst, Red Burst, Green Burst, Purple Burst, & Honey Burst. All burst finishes burst to black unless otherwise coordinated. Bursting to a matching color may involve a slight up charge.

Neck Woods Options:

Neck woods for the Standard Grade are Hard Maple, Mahogany, Prupleheart, Walnut, and Korina. All necks come with a dual action truss rod Standard, and unless otherwise requested by the customer, come with a Standard Thin back contour. Other contours such as Roundback, Wizzard, Clapton, SRV, etc., are available. All models come with industry standard scale lenghts such as 24.75" for the Arthur, the Lancelot, the Battle Ax, the Merlin, and the Modred. 25.5" for the AX-1 and the AxCalibur, and the Galahad, and 25" for the Gawain, unless otherwise specified by the customer. Remember, we can interchange scale lenghts as you request at no additional charge.

Fret/fingerbord wood options in the standard grade include Birdseye Maple, Hard Maple, Indian Rosewood, Ebony, Pao Ferro, and Bocote.

Binding is standard on the neck surrounding the fret/fingerboard, and is single ply in white, black, cream, or Ebony wood. Headstock binding is available at an additional charge.

Standard Grade fretboard markers are round dots in black, white, cream, pearl, or abalone, your choice. Side marker dots are standard and come in either black or white.

All instruments come with 3 string per side headstocks excapt the AX-1 and the Galahad which are 6 in line. If you choose a different style of headstock, these can be shaped to your requests for an additional charge. Headstocks can be finished either natural, or painted  to match. Truss rod covers are black plastic standard, but can be upgraded to either match your pickguards, or metal with the appropriate plating to match your hardware for an additional charge.

Standard grade tuners are 18:1 ratio Planet Waves  auto trim locking type in chrome, but we can use other finishes to match your hardware, or for additional charge, change to another manufacturer.

Nuts are graphite on the standard model, but we can also use Delrin, bone, Tusq by Graph Tech, or if you are using a straight headstock, an LSR roller nut. 

The standard fretboard is a 10" to 16" compound radius, unless otherwise specified by the customer. In addition, industry standard  9.5", 10", 12", 14", and 16" radii are also available at no additional charge. 

Standard fret wire is #6105 medium jumbo unless otherwise requested or specified by the customer. 

Standard Grade Bridge options:

All Standard Grade bridges and hardware come in chrome, but can be upgraded to black or gold with the appropriate price adjustment. 

Standard fixed bridges for the Arthur, the Lancelot, the Battle Ax, and the Merlin, are Gibson or Tone Pros (your choice) ABR-1     tune-o-matic with Graph Tech saddles and a Gibson TP-6 fine tuning tailpiece.

Standard fixed bridges for the Gawain and the Modred is a Gibson ABR-1 with Graph Tech saddles and string through body stringing.

Standard fixed bridges for the AX-1 and the Galahad is the Gotoh with Graph Tech saddles and string through body stringing.

Whether you choose a Gibson, or a Tone Pros bridge, we ALWAYS make sure the bridge and tailpiece are lockable to prevent tuning or action adjustment changes when re-stringing your instrument. We do this by strategically drilling, tapping, and inserting Allen type set screws that when tightened after set-up, locks the bridge and tailpiece in place. In addition to preventing accidental changes in your action and intonation, it also prevents either your bridge, tailpiece, or both from coming loose and accidentally marring the finish on your instrument, and as an added bonus, increases your sustain by creating a more secure bridge/tailpiece to body mounting.

As for Standard Grade tremolo systems, the standard equipment tremolo system for the

AX-1, the Battle Ax, the Merlin, and the Modred is the Fender New American tremolo with Graph Tech String Saver Saddles.  Upgrade for these models is limited to the Wilkinson in the Standard Grade.

As for miscellaneous items such as pick guards, control cavity covers, neck and jack plates, the Standard Grade equipment is as follows:

All standard jack and neck plates are chrome plated steel, but can be upgraded to black or gold plated with the appropriate matching mounting hardware.

Those instruments that require or utilize a pick guard have several choices. Standard Grade pick guards come in multiple ply black, white, white pearl, black pearl, tortoise, or bronze moto. For those instruments that require a tremolo cover, we will match the pickguard unless you specify otherwise. For example a white pearl tremolo cover to match your pickguard on your AX-1. This also applies to switch and control cavity covers in those instruments that require such, as say a black pearl switch and control cavity cover to match the pick guard on your Lancelot guitar.

As previously stated, we can, at a small additional charge, manufacture truss rod covers to match.
